Anyone who reads my blog may realise that I love my Vintage Crockery and I also love my animals. My blog post today combines the two.:-)
Im relaxing with a cup of Twinnings tea.I love the fruity blends and this one is soo delicous. My plan for this year is to save a few teacups from my teacup candle craze, keep one of the divine cake stands I get my lovely bf to drill and …….acquire a teapot. Then I can maybe invite some friends over for Afternoon Tea. 🙂
I had a fab wknd doing my first craft fair of the year and managed to sell the two beauties above.I also met a few adorable dogs with long waggy tails!Tails and Teacups shouldn’t mix but I would have forgiven a few breakages……the dogs were so cute.:-D
Anyway I sell my candles and cake stands under the name of Mrs Tibbs Teacups ( Mrs Tibbs is actually my cat and the brains of the operation lol ) so hey maybe Teacups and Tails do go together.
Also at the wknd I bought a frame for this lovely picture of Boxing hare I purchased from a little gallery in my Mums home village at Christmas.Love it!
Before I go I will just mention my friends dog Sparkie who went missing on a dog walk on Valentines day.
Don’t worry there is a happy ending.Sparks ran off into the woods after catching the scent of a deer. Usually he would come back but this time my poor friends spent five hours looking for him in the cold and dark before giving up for the night. They shot up there early next morning and there was Sparkie looking wet and bedraggled on the end of a kindly dog walkers lead, who had found him nesting in some leaves and mud under a tree.Tears of joy and straight home for breakfast and a kip in front of the fire. 🙂
I love to do the occasional Craft Fair as I make Teacups into Candles and trinket stands. One of my favourite fairs is Lets Get Crafty which is held on the third sunday of every month in the Lancashire Village of Whalley.
I always look forward to the fairs as you get to meet some really lovely and creative people.Lets Get Crafty has lots of super talented stall holders.Any money I make usually ends up in their pockets.:).So many Pretty Things!
Lets Get Crafty is organized by Charlie of Crafts By Charlie. He makes the gorgeous scented soaps, Bath bombs and candles above.

I love Tracys stall! She makes all sorts of pretty things with yarn.I purchased an adorable crochet pin cushion and have a ‘Hattie the hare’ on order. All Tracy’s proceeds go straight into her animal charity which she blogs about on her Olive and Harry blog.
I also bought my kitty Tibbs a lovely collar from the Felix and Fido Pet boutique. She wasn’t for posing for a piccy though!
Today on the way to visit family near Penrith we spied a sign saying ‘Farmers Market, Orton’. Of course we love tasting local produce so decided to take a little detour.:-D.
It turns out the market is held every Saturday in this pretty Cumbrian Village. There were a scattering of stalls in the village centre and some indoors too.
We purchased some tasty treats including a soft scottish cheese rolled in oats and black pepper, Bessy Beck smoked trout pate and a decadent chocolate covered meringue.
I also noticed a sign saying Bric A Brac and an arrow pointing to the church so dragged a rather reluctant boyfriend inside.
I am always on the look out for a pretty vintage teacup or two but I didn’t uncover any at the Church sale.:-/ I did buy this rather fine brooch for £1 !
And when I saw Mum later I discovered she had found me 15 Teacups! I am now all set to make lots of gorgeous teacup candles for my first craft fair of the year next wknd in Whalley. Thanks Mum 😀
Also in Orton there is a rather nice Chocolate Shop called Kennedys. They already have an enviable Easter Egg display.
Well its approaching that Hearts and Flowers time of year again…..so I thought I would share with you my TOP TEN list of movies to watch with your Valentine, or on a girls night in, or snuggled up with a furry cat face and a grumpy black labrador. 🙂 Some of my choices are old, some are more recent. They are all firm favorites of mine!
10) Under The Tuscan Sun(2003)
Diane Lane plays a writer whose life is in a real mess when a good friend offers her ten days in Tuscany.Once there she impulsively buys a ramshackle old villa, throwing herself into a life changing adventure filled with unexpected surprises, friendship and romance.Could well make you rush and book a dream holiday to Italy!
9) The Ghost and Mrs Muir(1947)
A gentle atmospheric romantic comedy about a young widow (Gene Tierney) and her little daughter who move into a lonely English seaside cottage which is haunted by a former occupant ,Rex Harrisons grumpy seafarer Captain.LOve this film 🙂
8) When Harry Met Sally (1988)
This charming Manhatten romantic comedy starring Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal examines the age old question “Can a man and a woman stay just good friends? ”
7) Grosse Point Blank (1997)
John Cusack is Martin whose Career as a Hitman has lost its appeal. With one Last Job, A ten year High School Reunion and a shot at rekindling a romance with a girl he stood up on prom night all on the agenda, this is a fun comedy packed with action and laughs.
6) A Life Less Ordinary( 1997)
Poor Robert ( Ewan Mcgregor) has been replaced by a robot at work, made redundant and been dumped by his girlfriend all on the same day.Not the most promising start to a kooky rom com which features Cameron Diaz as the spoilt brat bosses daughter he kidnaps and Holly Hunter and Delroy Lindo as a couple of gun toting angels 🙂
5) Some Like iT Hot (1959)
Screwball comedy starring Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon as musicians who accidentally witness the Saint Valentines Day Massacre and go on the run with a women’s band disguised as…..Daphne and Josephine! They both become enamored of the bands gorgeous vocalist ‘Sugar Kane’ (Marilyn Monroe) who has sworn off male saxaphone players and vows to bag’ a sweet bespectacled millionaire ‘ instead.Madcap hilarity follows!
4) Bridget Jones Diary (2001)
Our favorite Single thirty something staggers through the perilous world of dating in this modern take on Jane Austins Pride And Prejudice. 🙂
3) Twilight (2008)
Ok I admit it I am a BIG Twilight fan.So There! Teen Romance starring Kristen Stewart as ‘Bella Swan’ a high school student who falls in love with the dazzlingly beautiful ‘Edward Cullen’ played by Robert Pattinson, only to discover he is a vampire. And his skin Dazzles in the Sun.Tee Hee 🙂
Kristen Wiig takes on the role of Maid Of Honor for her best friends wedding with an eccentric cast of bridesmaids. I laughed out Loud so much when I saw this film at the pictures. Lol Lol :0)
1) Breakfast At Tiffanys (1961)
I love this whimsical tale of a country girl trying to make her mark as a New York socialite. Audrey Hepburn is alluring as ditsy Holly Golightly who stares longingly through the window of the famous jewellers whenever she feels blue ( or gets the mean reds!) and George Peppard is a frustrated writer who falls in love with her. And she has a cute cat companion, Cat. X
Hope you enjoyed my Valentines Top Ten. Feel free to add any film treats to the list!
