Cats Sleep Anywhere.

Quite often I come home from a days work to find our cat Tibbs snuggled up in various places around the house. She seems to pick a different ‘favourite place’ every couple of days even though she has a perfectly good fluffy pink bed of her own to snooze in. Her sleeping habit’s inspired me to look up this poem ‘Cats Sleep Anywhere’  by Eleanor Farjeon.

Cats sleep anywhere,
any table,any chair
Top of piano, window ledge
in the middle, on the edge.
Open draw, empty shoe,
anybody’s lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box,
in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don’t care!
Cats sleep anywhere.

Eleanor Farjeon ( 1881- 1965)

  1. Tibbs is so cute! I love that poem. We have no cats in our house (although the girls would love one) but lots live in our neighbourhood…my daughter has even crocheted special cat snuggling blankets for her favourite nextdoor cat! Does Tibbs get on well with Jake?

      1. Our elderly dog used to live in a house with a cat but when we rehomed him our previous neighbour encouraged him to chase cats visiting his garden – Doh! He’s too old for that now though! Our younger dog gets very jealous & whines if she gets any whiff of secret cat snuggling going on outside!!
