A Tail Of Two Fittie’s ;)

I’ve been looking back on my many failed attempts at getting fit and healthy.Ok i’m exagerating, there havn’t been that many actual attempts! I am much to lazy I am ashamed to say.My idea of a balanced diet is a cake in each hand :). I’m so uncoordinated that any forays into Aerobics, yoga and pilates have proved utterly pointless ,usually resulting in the teacher sighing in disbelief as I collapse on the floor after getting tangled up in another grapevine etc.
I haven’t really ridden a bike since I was a teenager ( despite having  ex Olympian cyclists in the family~i don’t take after them :/) and i’m one of those swimmers that can barely gasp through one length of the pool without having to rest for 5 minutes. My friends all seem to be on health kicks at the mo.Crossfit,Spinning, lifelong memberships at the gym. They all look great for it too.The dog and I often come across mad groups of keep fitters in the park, running up and down the castle steps and racing prams along the castle field ( minus babies I think/hope!).
Having said that I used to get quite a lot of exercise walking said dog.Up until about a year ago we were out and about most days down the river and enjoying a two mile walk without me even realizing I was keeping fit by accident.Hee hee!
And the bf and I like to take the hound camping in the summer, where we have had many a trek up a mountain sized ( In my opinion anyway) hill.

I have in the past managed to get to the top of a hill......:)

Jake, our labrador had of course got up there ages before me! Here he is enjoying the view of Derwent water in the Lake District.

Sadly the dogs years are finally catching up with him.He is 13 ( getting on for a lab) and arthritic now poor old boy so his walkies are kept to short ambles round the park.Hence my walks have shortened too.I always feel a bit odd going off on a walk without him as a) he still gets so excited when he see’s me putting on my wellies/walking boots so guilt sets in and b)It just doesn’t look right going for a walk without a four legged friend. If I ever see someone out and about on their own in the middle of a field without a dog I tend to regard them with suspicion and think they must be a mad murderer! Anyway I am going to have to get over it and start walking more again.Think I will start today with a wander up to the local car boot sale where I can rummage for some vintage tea cups. I will try not to venture anywhere for cake on my way back ,honest.;)

So are you an exercise phobic or an exercise addict?
