Chasing Butterflies.

butterflies 018

This morning I decided to amble through the fields to the river. I thought the wildlife would all be lazy in the sunshine and I would get tons of pictures. Instead I was a bit lazy myself and spent lots of time in the shade under a tree of magpies. Even before 10am it was scorching ! My favorite part of the walk was catching fleeting glimpses of a gleaming kingfisher( no snaps i’m afraid, quick as lightning!) and my favorite poser wasn’t wildlife at all but a very friendly cat perched on a stile. πŸ™‚ I wore myself out chasing butterflies..

How are you cooling off in this heatwave ?

Maybe its not a heatwave at all but an actual proper Summer !

  1. I have just been reading about UK butterflies being at a ‘historic low’ due to the wet and windy weather last year exacerbated by this Year’s cold spring. The hope is that this hot July will help them bounce back.
