Today was glorious and sunny. The kind of sunny that actually feels warm. 🙂 I went for a walk down through the fields to the river. This is one of our usual dog walking routes, but I let Wil carry on ahead with Hugo ,so I could get a few piccies without a black labrador crashing through the undergrowth. 🙂
I also saw Sand Martins , back to reclaim their sandy nesting holes in the river bank, a male and a female Goosander flying down the Ribble and a tiny Goldcrest. I think I may do one post a month, following my wildlife sightings in this tiny corner of the world. 🙂
Beautiful post and lovely pictures. I love the Bullfinch! I saw a Painted Lady yesterday but couldn’t photograph it. Spring has definitely sprung 😀 x
Ha ha yes it really has. A painted Lady. Wow. Great spot! X
Beautiful photos, looks like a lovely walk! I had a great walk yesterday and saw my first butterfly of the year, a peacock 🙂
It seems that everyone saw their first butterflies this weekend! Love Peacock Butterflies. They are so colourful. 🙂
Beautiful, really brought Spring to mind!
Thanks so much. 🙂
Awww wonderful photos♥ Looks like Spring has certainly sprung:) Amazing time of the year.
I love Spring and its so nice when its sunny. Heres tomore sunny days!
Beautiful pictures! I went out for a walk today and kicked myself that I didn’t take the DSLR, but had a great time watching peacocks, small tortoiseshells and brimstones on the wing, plus really close views of a green woodpecker. I love your photos of the bullfinch- I’ve never seen one!
I am super jealous that you saw a Green Woodpecker! I feel very privelidged to photograph the Bullfinch. X
Gorgeous Spring photos! Love the birds 🙂
The sunshine brought them out. 🙂
It was such a lovely weekend, wasn’t it? Spring is here too.
Oh nice! Its lovely at the moment. Long may it continue. 🙂
Nice to hear goldcrest are around, only been past couple years they started coming up this far
Wow I am in awe of your nature skills! I have no idea what bird is which and when I try to take a picture, they disappear! Beautiful photography, and great pictures!
I love the blackthorn blossom – (I can identify a few plants) there are many in flower round here. Let’s hope this delightful weather holds.
Thank you. I just have to hang around looking suspicious in bushes. :)I do have a few books for identification purposes. My Mum taught me the names of lots of wild flowers when I was a little girl and they must have stuck with me. X
The weather certainly was lovely over the weekend. Pics are fab! I’ve still to capture my first lamb pic this year – they’re never where I’m walking – probably because HRH chases sheep, so I avoid such places!
Just recently started to see them. They are little cuties. 🙂
Such lovely photos! There are few things better than spotting baby lambs at this time of year 🙂
Hi there I’ve followed your page it’s inspired! I hope you’ll do the same for me. I’m conducting the half-blood princess project.
Beautiful photos. We really do have so much wildlife on our doorstep in the Ribble Valley- I can never capture them on camera as you can’t let a toddler go ahead in the same way you can with a Labrador!
Hi lovely to find another Ribble Valley blogger! We really do live in a gorgeous part of the world. 🙂
