Wow can’t quite believe my little blog Sunshine and Celandines is one year old this month. 🙂 I started my blog as a celebration of all the things I love and am interested in. There are musings about vintage finds, wildlife walks, yummy food and favourite films. I write mostly for myself but yes I do get a happy buzz and a feeling of satisfaction when someone likes or comments on a post. Yippeee!
So to mark Sunshine and Celandines birthday I thought I would treat you to a little giveaway ( Hurrah! ). According to my stats my most widely read entry is What To Do With Your Vintage Teacups. so it seems appropiate that I should treat you to one of my own hand poured Teacup Candles. 🙂
To be in with a chance of winning the teacup candle pictured all you have to do is leave a comment by the 28th of July. I will then collect all the commenters names in a tea cup and draw out a name at random. 🙂
Good Luck ! x
I love to do the occasional Craft Fair as I make Teacups into Candles and trinket stands. One of my favourite fairs is Lets Get Crafty which is held on the third sunday of every month in the Lancashire Village of Whalley.
I always look forward to the fairs as you get to meet some really lovely and creative people.Lets Get Crafty has lots of super talented stall holders.Any money I make usually ends up in their pockets.:).So many Pretty Things!
Lets Get Crafty is organized by Charlie of Crafts By Charlie. He makes the gorgeous scented soaps, Bath bombs and candles above.
Lisa from http://www.tileproductions.co.uk specialises in handmade tiles, tags, buttons and gifts.
Lorna of http://www.blackrosecrafts.co.uk creates gifts and jewellery using brightly coloured fused glass.
To see more of Nancys handcrafted nursery and interior decor items and jewellery look up http://www.n5nsy.com
I love Tracys stall! She makes all sorts of pretty things with yarn.I purchased an adorable crochet pin cushion and have a ‘Hattie the hare’ on order. All Tracy’s proceeds go straight into her animal charity which she blogs about on her Olive and Harry blog.
I also bought my kitty Tibbs a lovely collar from the Felix and Fido Pet boutique. She wasn’t for posing for a piccy though!
Another regular at Lets Get Crafty is http://www.babyblingbling.co.uk.I love these glitzy little shoes.:)
So that was only a small selection of some of the goodies that can be found at the fairs every month. There is also a fab food market outside too but I didn’t get chance to grab any sneeky pics.
Maybe we will see you at the next Lets Get Crafty on the 17th March!
It is remarkable that it is only in the last year or so that I have discovered the very existance of Vintage Shops. They are walk in Treasure Troves of Olde Worlde delights where you might discover anything from a 1950’s Powder Blue Vanity Case( I live in hope) to a beguiling Box Brownie.Who Knows 😀
My latest obsessions are Vintage brooches. There are an abundance in my fave Vintage shop ,part Alice In Wonderland inspired Tearoom/part Curiousity shop Callooh! Callay! in Clitheroe. You must visit for a brew and a browse..
I have decided to use my newly made Teacup pincushion as a tidy for my as yet quite small collection of brooches. You can either pin them to the cushion or display them on the saucer.:)
Has anyone any ideas concerning what I can do with my brooches? Apart from wear them of course!
About five years ago I stumbled into a Cath Kidston shop on a cold November day in Edinburgh. It was a discovery of starbursts of colour, beautiful floral fabrics and a nostalgic nod to vintage.I was in love 🙂
Cath Kidston herself started out with one little store selling home furnishings in Notting Hill and has gone from strength to strength ever since with shops all over the United Kingdom,Ireland and even far flung Japan. If I had my way I would do out my whole house Cath Kidston style but the other half isn’t so keen.:( But I do sneak in the odd tea towel and cushion here and there!
Here are a few items on my wish list.
All items can be found on the website http://www.cathkidston.co.uk. Happy Shopping!
