Sunday Sevens ~ 20th March.

It’s been a Happy and a Sad week for me this week….but my blog is totally my Happy place,so I have some nice memories to share on here mostly. 🙂

  1. It was my nephew’s 8th Birthday so it was great to go out with the family for a Birthday Tea. Here’s Roman blowing out his candles with a little help from his little sis. 🙂 I also got to see them in their school production of The jungle Book which in my somewhat biased opinion was absolutely brilliant. Well done guys!!!

I got my little twiggy Christmas Tree down from the loft and resurrected it as an Easter Tree. There are so many cute decorations in the shops at the moment. I got some glitter eggs for £1.85 for a pack of twelve from my local card shop Party people and found the bunnies in a Clitheroe gift shop, Urban Sheep. Hattie the Hare was made by a friend a couple of years ago. 🙂

3. I spent my last week of four without Facebook and Instagram. I’m now back on!!  I really missed Facebook. I have definitely felt out of touch without it. It’s such a communication tool between friends and family these days, that if you rely on it , you really miss it when you don’t have it.And i did miss out on a friend’s wedding do. 😦 His written wedding invite didn’t arrive and when he facebooked me to ask if i was coming,i didn’t get to read the message until it was to late. Sad times. 😦 But there have been advantages too. I have read more books and spent more time getting on with things instead of checking Facebook constantly. So there have been negatives and positives. Slinky the cat is most pleased that she is again being snapped in various sleepy poses and uploaded onto Instagram though. Purrrfect!

4. I completed my LadyBird What to look for collection with What to look for in Spring. You can’t beat a Ladybird Nature book for beautiful illustrations and detailed descriptions of wildlife going about their days.

5. Hugo is back wearing The Cone of Shame after his wound reopened. 😦 Poor boy now has fresh stitches and has to wait for yet another two weeks before he has them out. Don’t worry I am not tempting him with a real donut here. This is a doggy donut from a doggy bakery stall on the Makers Market in Manchester. It didn’t last very long!

6 & 7. A couple of piccies of my friends Birthday Celebrations in Manchester. No doubt I will blog about it soon. Lots of cocktails were consumed! 🙂

Could you give up social media for a month?

Could you give up Social Media for a month??  This is the question I have been asking myself for quite a while now. Let me show you my typical day!  I wake up when my alarm goes off on my phone. To help me wake up I check what’s been going on in Facebook land. During breakfast I might read a few Blog posts. Once at work my breaks are taken up with checking Facebook again. I will probably scroll through lots of pretty pictures on Instagram. If work is quiet I may even add some pins to my Pinterest boards.Hmm sound familiar?  The day’s not over yet though and I must admit most of my evening is taken up with the same. Even before I go to  sleep I’m back Facebook browsing. I’m so nosy and i’m scared, really scared of missing out on something………

The Back in Time for the weekend family, wishing they could take a few selfies. 🙂

So anyhow, I’ve decided I will try a little experiment. I’ve decided I will do my best to give up Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram for a month. No more checking In, photographing my lunch or pinning countless pictures of Audrey Hepburn and Avocado recipes. How will I cope! Hopefully I will have more time to read books, watch films and even pick up the phone and have conversations with my friends.

But because my blog is my baby ( along with my fur babies of course 🙂 ) , I will keep on blogging and reading blogs too. I can’t give up everything can I !

I will start my new challenge on Monday. Wish me luck. X

One Hundred Happy Days. :)

Between April and August I took part in the 100 Happy Days Challenge on Instagram. The idea is ~ take a photo every day for 100 days of something that makes you smile or feel happy.  It seems quite a simple premise and an easy one too. But actually the challenge can be a toughie , especially if your having a bad day. The end result though, I think for me, is that joy and appreciation can be discovered in the little  things. I thought I would post a small selection of my photographs on my blog. To see them all you can follow me on Instagram.

Thursday Favourites and a Blogging Question.

Well what has put a smile on my face recently ?  Life has been pretty good of late. I can’t really complain. I’m a wee bit scint ~ I don’t think I’ll ever get used to getting paid four weekly ( even after all this time! ) , but apart from that…..everything is tickety boo. 🙂

Facebook Can Be Great ~ Recently social media has really helped my friends who run a farm animal rescue centre. They have found themselves in the awful situation of having to move and rehome most of the animals. Finding loving homes for farm animals can prove difficult so I’m  greatful that Facebook especially is proving to be a great way of spreading the word. Today the first of their hens have gone to a  new home with some lovely people. That makes me happy! If you can help ( the farm is based near Settle in Yorkshire) their email is gbfarmproject@gmail.com

Blossom 🙂
How beautiful is this Hawthorn blossom I spied on a walk on Monday. Nature is so breathtaking at times.

Eighties Band down the Local !

Was out on Friday and we ended up seeing 80’s band The Blow Monkeys in Clitheroe. All a bit random. They were quite big in about 1987, around the same time as Curiousity Killed the Cat. Their biggest hit ( No, it wasn’t their only Hit !) was called Diggin Your Scene. Do you remember them?  Anyway I enjoyed a bit of Eighties Pop nostalga. Showing my age now!

Jane and Lisbon got together. ❤

And I was really pleased with the season 6 finale of one of my favourite shows The Mentalist on Tues night.  Patrick Jane and Theresa Lisbon have admitted their feelings for each other finally. Yay !  I can’t wait until season seven to see how this storyline develops. 🙂

Boo hoo I may not be able to blog now until after my next payday. 😦

Seems I have nearly used up all my storage space for photos and images on WordPress….and I’m going to have to pay for more space If I want to carry on. 😦
Has anyone else used up theirs? You find out by going into Media on your dashboard. Photographs are a big part of my blog so I’m a bit gutted to be honest ( maybe everything is not all tickety boo then! ) ~ any re assurances would be appreciated. 🙂

Bye for Now.
