Alice Pic of The Week ~ 5

image

‘The Dormouse is asleep again,’ said the Hatter, and he poured a little hot tea upon its nose. ~ Alice In Wonderland.

Hello Hello, sorry I am being a bit haphazzard with my Alice Pics. Here is another quirky Wonderland inspired teapot. I wish it was mine.Despite my love of vintage china, I do not actually currently own a teapot. Shame on me! I spied this today in my local tearooms/curiousity shop ‘ Callooh! Callay! I quite like the detail especially the white rabbit and the cheshire cats grin.Of course looking in Callooh for items to photograph is almost cheating as it is packed full of all things Alice. πŸ™‚

If you have ever stumbled upon anything Wonderland related on your travels and taken a photo ~ I would love to feature it as an Alice Pic Of The Week. My email is shazzarob@hotmail.co.uk

See you at the Queens croquet-ground. πŸ˜‰

A Vintage Afternoon.

Saturday afternoon I met up with a friend for a brew, a natter and a scout round a vintage fair. The Chic Vintage Fair was held in the St Marys Centre in Clitheroe and was packed to the rafters with glorious vintage homewares, clothing and collectables. Its always fun mooching round these types of events as you often spot something that reminds you of your childhood. I get ridiculously nostalgic when I glance upon a slideshow View Finder or a Mr Frosty slush maker!
And you also come accross unique gift ideas when people get crafty with their vintage. πŸ™‚

After the fair my friend and I went to the Exchange Coffee Company for a brew. She was short on time so after she left for home I couldn’t resist on going back and buying a string of pearls for a friends birthday and this beauty for my bedroom.

I love this teacup covered in cath kidston fabric and lace. πŸ™‚

Then as I ambled home I couldn’t resist bobbing into Callooh Callay on Moor lane for a nosy in the Curiousity shop upstairs.

Teacup Treats. :)

Although I havn’t done any fairs recently I have still been looking out for teacup treasures. πŸ™‚

At the wknd I quickly bobbed into a gorgeous Crafty Vintage Fair at the st Marys centre ( inbetween bridesmaid dress fittings and
bridesmaid hair do practices!) and was quickly confronted by these beauties that caught my eye. First off a lovelyΒ  floral trio with no markings to say who made it but pretty all the same.

Then I spied another delightful trio. This elegant pale green and white and gold pattened teacup, saucer and side plate are made by Royal Vale. I love the colours. πŸ™‚

Of course another great place to find Teacups are Charity Shops. Sometimes you can be really lucky and bag a bargain and other times they might guess there are crazy teacup ladies in town and hoist the prices up. ( I’m one of them by the way!) Unfortunately I do find it almost impossible to resist a ravishingly retro teacup such as this one. I think my mum had the set this came from in the 70’s. πŸ™‚ Its called Delphine.

Today walking home from work ( which does mean passing an abundence of charity shops) , I spotted this rather lovely pale rose teacup trio in Oxfam. I love the pretty scalloped shape of the cup. πŸ™‚

Last but not least I found a stunning set of these white and gold Royal Vale teacups & saucers. I really think these beauties will make adorable christmas candles. What do you think?

So some of these teacup treats I shall keep and some I shall turn into trinket stands and candles. I suspect I may find even more at the weekend as I believe there is yet another Vintage fair on in Clitheroe. Teacup Heaven!
