Luby’s Charming Tea Room. :)

image

Saturday morning
was spent hunting for vintage tea cups in Skipton. My very wonderful boyfriend patiently trailed round the Antiques Centre with me ~ as I stacked more and more china in his arms. I have a good un there. πŸ™‚

He even obligingly took me to Luby’s afterwards. Luby’s tea rooms are in Crosshills which isn’t to far from Skipton. I had liked them on Facebook about a year ago ~ and have been seduced by their fabulous pictures of tempting cakes, mouth watering milkshakes and quirky decor. This was my first visit ~ and hopefully not my last !

I had the most fabulous chocolate milkshake with swirls of cream, sprinkles , bourbon biscuits, jelly mice, giant white chocolate buttons, strawberry laces, marshmallows and jelly beans. Wow! It was super delicious too. Yep I scoffed the lot !

Wil was a bit more reserved and chose a Dandelion & Burdock which was served in a jar with a straw and marshmallow. πŸ™‚

It was a bit of a flying visit really ~ but the friendly service , vintage china, retro nik naks ( I spotted my childhood jack-in-a-box) and amazing sweet treats will no doubt tempt me back ~ maybe for afternoon tea sometime. πŸ˜›

Alice Pic Of The Week ‘2’

Every week I’m going to feature a photo I have taken ( Or indeed that you have taken πŸ™‚ ) as my Alice Pic of the week. I’ve been a fan of Alice In Wonderland since I was a little girl and still have my copy of Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass that my Mum bought me to read when I was bedridden with measles aged nine. Feeling sorry for myself , I was at least comforted a little by the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat. πŸ™‚

Mad Hatters Tea Rooms, La Rosa Hotel, Whitby.

Todays Alice Pic Of The Week is of the Mad Hatters Tea Room in Whitby.I can just imagine sipping tea and indulging in cake at the long sturdy table. It is situated in the La Rosa hotel , a Victorian cliff top terrace overlooking Whitby and the sea. Think quirky b&b in a Curiousity shop. And Lewis Carrol actually resided here ( before its La Rosa days) when he stayed in Whitby.:) I have spent a night in this enchanting hotel too! If you have’nt caught my post do have a nosy ~ La Rosa and Whitby πŸ™‚

Have you ever stopped anywhere `Wonderland ‘ inspired? If you have why not email me a photo to breadandbutterfly4071@yahoo.com and I will feature it in a future Alice Pic Of The Week post. πŸ™‚
