Hawthorns Photo Scavenger Hunt ~ August. 📷

Here are Kate/Hawthorns words for this month’s Photo Scavenger Hunt. 📷

MOVING. I love this stainless steel fish sculpture in nearby Whalley. The fish appear as though they are moving in a circular motion. They represent the three local rivers in the area.

BOXES. I couldn’t find any boxes to photograph , so here’s a picture of a British beach that ticks all my boxes. Two years ago we visited North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. White sands and turquoise sea galore. At the moment a friend is filling my Facebook feed with images from an equally stunning Hebridean Island, Harris. Very envious indeed.

STARTS WITH ….D. A doggo of course. This is Bel the Bedlington Terrier who is totally the boss of our labrador. She always pinches Hugo’s bed whenever we go away with her family. Think Bel does suit pink better than Hugo though. 🙂

BREAKFAST. I snuck out for coffee and a pastry one morning whilst the Eat Out To Help Out offer was on. It was a lovely morning so I ate my breakfast 🥐 alfresco.

MAKING. I’m not really a crafter or maker , so here is a Jamie Oliver 5 Ingredient meal we were making for tea recently. It’s SicillianTuna Pasta and contains pasta, tuna, cherry tomatoes, oregano and capers.

MY OWN CHOICE. Walking past a church yesterday, and who should be walking along the wall but this cute chicken. 🐔

Thanks for dropping by. 😊

  1. Well done you & I do love your cheeky chicken & the fish sculpture is inreal. Your beach looks very inviting. Seems food has been in the spotlight for this month’s hunt. Surely a small dog couldn’t be bossy with Hugo. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

    1. Oh yes, Hugo is completely bossed around by terrier types. I am glad because he is badly behaved with boy dogs who are his size and bigger, except greyhounds, who he loves . X

  2. Love the fish sculpture, it looks very tactile too. I agree with Hugo – pink is not for a hunk of a labrador – best for his friend Bel. Haven’t been to Whalley Abbey for years, not since 2000. First place Kate took us when we arrived here from SA. Looks lovely. x

  3. We live nearby and often drive through Whalley but we’ve never walked around it; perhaps we ought to do this. I too love the fish sculpture but the chicken in the churchyard is my favourite! We used to keep chickens until we moved here.

  4. Great photos, that bed looks perfect for Miss Bel, what a cuite! And that chicken looks like she was just waiting for her picture to be taken.

  5. Oh I love your interpretation of ‘boxes’ – well done! We have a similar incentive here in Tasmania to go out and visit our area – theres even a monetary offer if we spend a night in a local bnb. Very generous of our state government indeed! Nice to stop by in your space xx
